Your experience begins in the late afternoon, when your driver picks you up from your accommodation in Marrakech. As you leave the city behind, the landscape shifts dramatically; palm groves give way to wide open plains and gentle desert hills. After about 40 minutes, you’ll arrive at the Agafay Desert, where silence and beauty take over.
At the desert camp, you’ll be warmly welcomed with a glass of refreshing Moroccan mint tea while you take in the stunning surroundings. After a short introduction, it’s time for your camel ride. Dressed in traditional desert attire ; a cheich or scarf to protect from the sun; you’ll climb atop your camel and begin your slow, peaceful journey across the golden terrain. The ride lasts around one hour, offering spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains in the distance, especially enchanting as the sun begins to set. The colors of the sky shift from gold to rose and violet, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for photos and quiet reflection.
When you return to camp, the evening transforms into a warm and festive celebration. Lanterns begin to glow as you take your seat in a beautifully decorated Berber tent for dinner. A delicious traditional Moroccan feast awaits you; featuring freshly baked bread, flavorful salads, tagines, couscous, and grilled meats, followed by sweet pastries and mint tea.
As night falls, the desert comes alive with rhythm and laughter. Around the fire, you’ll enjoy an enchanting live show of Berber music, Gnawa rhythms, and traditional dances, performed by local artists in colorful costumes.
