Day trip to Ourik valley from Marrakech

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech and head south toward the Atlas Mountains. As you leave the city behind, the landscape gradually changes — from the bustling urban scene to peaceful countryside dotted with olive groves, fruit orchards, and small red-earth Berber villages. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to stop at a local Berber house, where you’ll be warmly welcomed with mint tea and learn about traditional mountain life.

Continuing the drive, you’ll follow the scenic Ourika River, which meanders through the valley surrounded by terraced fields and fruit trees. Upon arrival in the heart of the valley, near the village of Setti Fatma, you can enjoy a guided walk to discover the famous waterfalls of Ourika. The hike takes you along narrow trails, crossing small bridges and offering panoramic views of the mountains and the rushing streams below. After the walk, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch in one of the local riverside restaurants, where tables are often placed right beside the water. In the afternoon, you’ll begin the journey back to Marrakech, with possible stops along the way to take photos or visit an Argan oil cooperative, where women extract this precious oil using age-old methods. You’ll return to your accommodation by late afternoon, bringing with you a day full of peaceful mountain memories and authentic Moroccan hospitality.
